This Privacy Policy explains how Backlinks Project, operated by White Dove Solutions (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website (backlinksproject.com) or use the Backlinks Project app (app.backlinksproject.com) (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash).
- Profile details you choose to add, such as company name, phone number, website and country.
- Campaign and order details: project names and URLs, target URLs, anchor text, article instructions, saved lists and favourites.
- Support and contact messages: anything you write to us through the app’s support form, the website contact form or by email.
- Publisher submissions: details of websites you offer for listing, such as domain, metrics and prices.
Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processors (card payments and PayPal). We do not receive or store your full card number or PayPal login. We keep a record of each payment: the amount, currency, date, status and the processor’s transaction reference.
Information collected automatically:
- Your IP address and basic request information, used for security, fraud prevention and to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in to the app. It is strictly necessary and contains no personal details.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for a limited time.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and keep it secure.
- To provide the Service: show the catalog, process orders, pass placement briefs to publishers, and track and report on placements.
- To process top-ups, plan purchases and refunds, and to keep accounting records.
- To send service emails: account confirmation, password resets, receipts, order updates, plan reminders and replies to support requests.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the Service, using aggregated information that does not identify you.
We do not send marketing emails unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations (for example, keeping accounting records), for our legitimate interests in running a secure and reliable service, or with your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as needed to run the Service:
- Publishers (website owners) receive the order details needed to complete your placement, such as target URL, anchor text and article instructions. They do not receive your payment details.
- Payment processors that handle card and PayPal payments, under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers that host our website, app and database and deliver our emails, under contracts that require them to protect your information.
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- A successor business if the Service is sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
5. International transfers
We serve customers worldwide, and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected as described in this policy and as required by applicable law.
6. How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal, tax and accounting purposes (such as payment and order records), which we keep for as long as those laws require. Support messages are kept for as long as they are useful to help you.
7. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encrypted storage of payment-provider credentials, restricted access and limits on repeated sign-in attempts. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to ask us to delete it, and we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
To use any of these rights, email us at support@backlinksproject.com. We may need to confirm your identity first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies
The app uses a single strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. The website may use cookies needed for it to work, such as remembering a form submission. If we add analytics or other optional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
10. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app.
